As the months go by their relationship develops, and he begins to dream of a new life as an innkeeper.
But his unique talents and experience are needed to save the kingdom from attack by fierce savages from the high southern plains. Just when he is getting used to his new life, his old life reaches for him and offers him challenge and success such as he never dreamed of.
Of course, in order to satisfy the needs of his kingdom and his new family, he first has to stay alive.
The Innkeeper’s Husband is a standalone novel, part of the Petrellan Saga.

Review

An intriguing storyline. I think that the way Gordon A. Long has written the story really allows readers to become sucked into the characters lives and ultimate outcome. It was very well written and I enjoyed the mix of action, romance, fantasy and mythology.

There was a lot of backstory needed but it didnt bog down the novel as a whole. I felt like I had enough information while learning new things as I went. I loved the writing style, it was easy to follow and the pacing was spot on.
