Book Tour: God & I by Victor Victori #blogtour #nonfiction #selfhelp #spiritual #rabtbooktours @RABTBookTours

The Pursuit of Wisdom, Knowledge, Spiritual Power, and the Minds of God Through Multiplism

Nonfiction / Spiritual / Self-Help

If art imitates life, this book imitates the artist’s mind. Specifically an artist that has surrendered most of their natural born life to the arts. As the decades change so does the style of the art and their philosophy of how they approach their medium. This book follows the artist’s transformation and expression of that art in correlation to the influences, both external and internal, over a lifetime of study. The influence is sometimes physical and direct, other times more seemingly abstract and metaphysical. And it continually revisits the question, how in control are we, or is there something bigger at work? Are we bound to repeat history or do we always have the power to change our path? The author provides anecdotes that seem to answer the text's questions directly, and at other times stir the ambiguity. At the same time, the format of the book as an anthology allows for it to rest on any coffee table and be cracked open at any page to enjoy a slice of the larger thought-pie.

Book Tour & Book Review: Limp Forward by Libo Cao Meyers #blogtour #bookreview #memoir #nonfiction #rabtbooktours @RABTBookTours

A Memoir of Disability, Perseverance, and Success

Memoir

From being a little girl in a village in China with polio to a tech executive at Apple, Libo Cao Meyers (曹力波) has had quite a journey in life—a journey steeped in rich family legacy and powered by determination, growth, and love. Over the years and the miles, she’s embraced her differences and has allowed no one—including herself—to set limitations on what she’s able to accomplish.

But just because she’s been successful doesn’t mean it’s been easy. Not by a long shot.

Along the way, Libo has overcome challenges as an immigrant in a new country, a person with a disability, a mother, and a woman in the male-dominated world of technology.

In Limp Forward, Libo boldly shares her story—both the hard and the beautiful—so that you may feel seen, be reminded of your inherent value, and find the strength you need to face your own challenges in life.

Every journey is unique, but Libo’s experiences contain insight that connects us all. Limp Forward is a captivating, unbridled exploration of the truths that guide us and shows what is possible when we pursue our full potential.

Review
A story that will move women and men, immigrants and non-immigrants alike about overcoming social barriers and coming out on the other side stronger and with the power of empathy.
It is a very fast read—the prose is clear, the voice is steady and humbling. Her words are without pretense.

About the Author

Libo Cao Meyers is a veteran of Silicon Valley’s culture of innovation, a board member, and a high-tech executive at Apple, where she helps build products that enrich people’s lives. Libo grew up in a village in Northern China and was diagnosed with polio as an infant. She did not let her disability quiet her ambition, immigrating alone to the United States at twenty-four and simultaneously completing her MS and PhD at Ohio University in two different engineering fields. From there, she once again put limitations aside and became an athlete by completing a Century Ride—a 100-mile bike ride—despite lingering leg complications from polio. She is proud to be part of the Cao family, which for the last 500 years of its 3000-year history, has kept a family record, each generation striving for more and contributing to a deeply-rooted legacy. She lives in California with her husband, Curt, and their two sons. For more, visit www.libomeyers.com.

This book will help parents build confidence in themselves, their children, and spouse so that they can have healthy, happy, and successful life long relationships with one another. It will teach parents how to create an environment that will encourage and strengthen who they are at the core, in turn helping their children find their identity and purpose. A child's identity must be respected, recognized, and nurtured. Being a parent is one of the most difficult roles in the world. There truly is no other job like it. With the immense responsibility parents face, it can sometimes feel overwhelming. Readers may find themselves with thoughts such as, "How can I be an example to my children?" or "Am I doing a good job?"

Author Ryan Norris invites readers to come on a journey of reflection and learning that will allow readers to examine how they are presenting themselves to their children and the world. Ryan lives on the beautiful gulf coast of Florida with his wife Kasia (Pronounced Kã-sh-ã), their 3 children Jocelyn, Makayla and Ezra. Ryan started his journey in the Army at 17 years old. In 2021, Ryan graduated Suma Cum Laude from Southern New Hampshire University with a BA in Psychology. He is currently attending Fordham University to obtain his Master of Social Work. Ryan and Kasia's dreams are to coach individuals to understand their potential, find their identity, to show how strong, motivated and fulfilled they can be, starting with the family. Parents make an everlasting mark on their children. The only way to create a culture of change is to start with ourselves. Once we have figured out ourselves we can then and only then be Fantastic parents.

Book Blitz: Fiascoes and Foibles by Paul Burton #promo #business #nonfiction #biography #rabtbooktours @PaulBjournalist @RABTBookTours

An Unfiltered Look at Public Finance, Media, Politics and Sports

Get unfiltered broadcasting and career advice with this biting and provocative firsthand account of working in media.

Paul Burton has 45 years under his belt, including 10 as a regional editor for New York City-based trade publication, Bond Buyer, and he’s survived—and thrived—to tell the tale. From his humble beginnings to his rise in the industry, Burton covers a lot of ground in his stories, from dealing with people in media and finance to workers in tech and personnel. He not only gives honest insights about financial news but also reveals the controversial internal politics of journalism and publishing that run rampant.

Burton’s wisdom on topics such as covering hot-button issues and fighting against negative stereotypes proves that a career in media is just like the news itself: eclectic, bold, and unexpected.

Take part in the drama and missteps that are a part of success in one of the best journalistic memoirs about business on the market.

About the Author

I am a retired journalist and author of two books, the most recent, “Fiascoes and Foibles: An Unfiltered Look at Public Finance, Media, Politics and Sports” (Elite Authors). It came out last Nov. 28. My earlier book was “Tales from the Newsrooms: An Offbeat Look” (Create Space), in 2011.

“Fiascoes,” a collection of anecdotal essays, reflects largely on my coverage of U.S. public finance over the last 10 years of my career – as a regional editor for a business publication in the shadow of Wall Street – against the backdrop of my 45 years in media. They capture drama, missteps and intrigue I encountered with color and biting, irreverent humor. Plenty of attitude. Topics range from transit/infrastructure to media and politics, and also include broadcasting and podcast dynamics, the alarming clout of tech bureaucracies, the abject failure of open-plan office layouts in the workplace and how my early days in sports journalism shaped and benefited my career.

Unique to my perspective is my blue-collar background. The media employs precious few people from working backgrounds these days. I didn’t go to Harvard, Duke or Stanford and prance right into the New York Times or Wall Street Journal. I was the son of a bartender who navigated a winding road, often working for small-to-medium media outlets who punched above their weight class, and frequently landed a rewarding knockout punch.

Shattered but not broken, Shaneé Morgan, shares the raw and uncut story of her journey through childhood trauma, tragedy, resilience, and healing. This shocking yet powerful memoir recalls the author’s childhood growing-up in 5th Ward Houston, Texas also known as “The Nickel,” in the midst of the crack epidemic. From the crack house to the school house, Shaneé recounts the tragic events that could’ve claimed her life, or the lives of her family if not for the grace and mercy of God. Later, realizing there was a greater purpose for her life, she set out to change the trajectory of the family cycle, by breaking generational curses and strongholds, in an effort to provide herself and her family a better life. Having to confront her past through extensive therapy allowed the author to share her tragic story to inspire and motivate other survivors to believe in their ability to succeed through healing, growth, hard work, dedication, and a desire to be their best selves, despite the tragedies and adversity they may have faced.

Book Tour & Book Review: Indiscernible Elements - Calcium by Korynn Newville #blogtour #bookreview #nonfiction #giveaway #rabtbooktours @RABTBookTours

i am in your teeth, your bones, you r nails. i help your muscles contract. i help your heart beat. you need me. I am in every brick in the colosseum and in the walls of caves. I am in soil, sand, and statues. every living thing requires me to function. when the living die, when a building crumbles, i will continue on. i have many jobs, i live many lives. you call me Calcium.

indiscernible elements: Calcium explores the path a molecule can take through various stages of life and death - from the perspective of Calcium itself. through the use of detailed illustrations, poetry, and dialogue, author Korynn Newville creates a discussion around how humans can change the way they create the built environment to be more conscious of the wondrous systems at work in nature. if the same Calcium in a femur bone can be used in concrete to build a cathedral, a house, a sidewalk or can be recycled by a nearby plant or tree, how can humans purposefully help that process along? what would Calcium design if it had the choice? what would Calcium say if it could tell you its story.

Review

This is a super quick read that really shines a light on an important element.

I liked the various ways the author used to highlight the element. It was different than I was expecting in a good way.

The Liberation of Mac MacCarrick

M/M Erotic Romance, Erotic Romantic Comedy

Karl “Mac” MacCarrick is an all-American boy. He’s a loyal friend, a loving son, and a dedicated student. On the surface, Mac has it all—a starting position on his Catholic college’s football team, the heart of his coach’s daughter. But Mac’s heart has never belonged to Kyauta, or any other girl, quite like he thinks it should.

After the Miracles training staff introduces alternative therapies to the team, Mac has wild dreams about his therapist, Kyauta's handsome brother Jalil. Mac feels torn. Although he doesn't want to hurt Kyauta, he doesn't think it would be right to lead her on if he can't provide her with the love she deserves.

The time has come for Mac to decide. He intends to liberate himself from his dilemma on the Fourth of July. Will he follow the path he feels is right for him, or will he adhere to the expectations of his church and society?

Excerpt

Jalil glanced at me, then looked down at his plate. I’m sure it was a trick of the light, but it looked like he was blushing.

“What esteemed guest?” Coach chuckled. “This is just Mac. I guess we’ll have to lock you in your room if we ever have an actual esteemed guest!”

Jalil flashed me a shy smile, and my mind was filled with thoughts of his strong, slim hands massaging my body. I ordered the thoughts to cease, reminding myself that tonight was the night when I stepped up my game with Kyauta. When it was time for me to go home, I took her aside with the intent of giving her a passionate kiss. However, it felt like I was kissing my mother, so I gave her a warm hug and told her I had a wonderful time.

At this morning’s session, I could hardly concentrate on yoga because I couldn’t stop thinking about what was coming after practice. Lidia whacked me on the butt with a towel and admonished me to get my head in the game. She always peppers our yoga sessions with football analogies. She’s a stickler for proper technique, but she’s also a lot of fun. Still, much though I like Lidia, I couldn’t wait to be alone with her nephew and his magic hands.
