A young boy disappears in the chill of North Iceland. Twenty years later, a mysterious poem lands on the desk of his twin sister Brynja, a forensic geneticist, and rekindles her hopes that her brother might be alive. As Brynja unravels the clues, more poems arrive, each bearing dire consequences for those who receive them: the guard of the medieval manuscript of Icelandic sagas that possibly has the answer to her burning question, the prime minister’s secretary, the local pastor.

Is the poet out to stop Brynja from finding her brother and shut down her access to the DNA database? Or is the verse maker simply a psychopath copycat killer?

Fighting the visual auras that have plagued her since childhood and now threaten everything she holds dear, Brynja must summon the strength to navigate the twisted labyrinth of the poet’s mind and confront the dark secret buried in her family’s past.

DOUBLE BLIND is a wild ride through the cultural landscape of Iceland, from rural farmsteads to icy fjords to the high-tech world of DNA forensics. This crime thriller packed with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Review

Sara Winokur is able to hook her reader with her characters and her words. She has characters that can easily allow the reader to engage with, we care about them an what's going on in their lives.

I loved the pacing and descriptive way it was written. It's just enough to allow us to feel like we can picture the characters and their surroundings.

I couldn't put it down. I loved the unpredictability, the mystery, the humor, and everything in between.

Book Tour & Book Review: El Gringo by Edmond Salus #blogtour #fiction #review #rabtbooktours @RABTBookTours

Sonny Galas is an only child being raised by his mother-a widow---and the loving help of his grandfather, also widowed. Living in a Santa Monica apartment complex owned by 'Grandpa' all is well and average for this close-knit family until a certain French family come into the picture, in need of a place to rent. They soon show their colors in various ways, topping it off by slapping a suit on their patient, kind landlord. Sonny's family sees no better option than selling their only asset-the apartments-and getting far away from their Lawyer-packing tenants. Far, as in 'leaving the country', and this is where their true adventure begins. South of the border becomes their new home.

From their journey through third-world narrow roads, small towns where no English is spoken, to long, hot unending desert roads and through humid coastal towns they continue toward their big city destination, Guadalajara, where their life begins and they encounter everything and everyone from kind helpers to con-artists and crazies and from strangers to good friends, both Mexican and American. From young boy to teenager, as the years pass, Sonny sees it all: his family's ups and downs, the country's ups and downs with its own political third-world corruption, and his own transformation from a simple boy in a new country to a growing youth, fully fluent in Spanish; a devilish yet fun-loving teenager now with roots firmly planted and sprouting happily in his new home, his new country. From the adventures and joys of boyhood with his friends and pals to the wild days through grade school, junior high and high school with the opportunities given him as a bi-lingual kid to living through the set-backs that could trouble any family-Mexican or American-even scare of the faint of heart, he takes it all in; after all, now he's Mexican. The fiestas, the friends, the awesome busy modern streets of Guadalajara in the early Seventies to the early Eighties, Guadalajara, the country's capital of Mariachis.

Review

I think the synopsis really lets you know what you ware going to get with this story. The thing that really stood out to me was the fact that it is a very well written book. There are a lot of ups and downs for these characters and we really do get to go along with their journey. It's a story that spans a long period of time, a lifetime and there are elements from every time in Sonny's life. It's such a great depiction of those trying to better their lives in a different country.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Savory Sabastian by Anne Marie Citro #promo #romance #giveaway #rabtbooktours @AnneMarieCitro @RABTBookTours

Savages Buck & Doe #1
Adult Romance
Date Published: October 27, 2018

The music festival turned from a night of singing, laughter, and fun into a nightmare when a monster took the lives of fifty-eight innocent people in the form of an automatic weapon. Within fifteen minutes, the shooter irrevocably changed the lives of the families and friends left behind.

Disillusioned and angered, Sabastian Savage stood at his father and older brother’s gravesite, holding his inconsolable mamma, when he noticed an adorable blonde crying as hard as his mamma. Who was she? And why was she so distraught? Sabastian wished he could find out, but a funeral was not the time.

Evangeline Rossi, or Emmy for short, was painfully shy, and with good reason—too many people had hurt her. So, when she met someone who sincerely cared, she held on with both hands. Shawn Savage had been one of those people, having been a father figure for her while she struggled to support her granddad and herself, and his death truly gutted her.

Months after the funeral, Emmy ran into the sexy, handsome Sabastian, Shawn’s own son and a man she had seen often yet in no way had the confidence to speak to. So, of course she was flattered when he directed his attention her way . . . until he opened his mouth.

Now Emmy was stuck between a rock and hard spot. The remaining Savage brothers had banded together to fill their father’s shoes by helping their mamma’s dream become a reality, which in turn extended to offering Emmy the opportunity of a lifetime. But, could she accept if the jerk was part of it? Did Emmy have the courage to stand up for herself and sweeten Savory Sabastian?

Blog Tour: Scars & Sins

Title: Scars & Sins (Brooklyn Brothers #2) Author: Melanie Munton Genre: Romantic Suspense/ Contemporary/Erotic Romance Release Date: March 31, 2020 Cover Designer: L.J. Anderson at Mayhem Cover Creations Hosted by: Buoni Amici Press, LLC.

We are the Rossetti's. The exiled "sixth" family of the New York mafia. We're the good guys. People don't fear us...much. They respect us. The five of us? We're the Brooklyn Brothers. And we protect what's ours.
You know when you have a little sister and she has that one friend that always follows you around like a puppy? For me, that was Roxanna "Roxy" D'Angelo. That was years ago, back when our fathers didn't hate each other. Then they became enemies and she went off to boarding school in Connecticut. Now, she's back...and looking nothing like the shy girl I remember. Cavorting with anyone from the five families is strictly forbidden to someone like me. So, I can't figure out why I keep finding myself in situations with Roxy that could bring the force of the entire mafia syndicate down on our heads. Even if those situations are the wildest, most intoxicating experiences of my life. But with the Sicilians in town and out for blood, times have never been more dangerous. If they find out about our relationship, they won't hesitate to remove both of us from the equation so they can restore order. We're not Romeo and Juliet. They both died. And I refuse to let anything happen to Roxy. I have to protect her. From my family. From hers.
I hope she won't hate me for what I have to do. Because it might just kill her before any bullet can.

Roxy
“How’s Gia?” His eyes softened. “She’s good, other than being annoyed all the time. She’ll be a senior at NYU. Pre-law and she hates it.” She and I had been best friends for our entire childhoods. Inseparable up until one disastrous night five years ago. That was why I’d been around Ace so much over the years. Any time she and I had hung out, I’d always begged to come over to her place. My house had never held much appeal because after all, Ace wasn’t in it. And knowing Gia as well as I did—or used to—she would have definitely hated going pre-law. God, I missed her. “I’m sorry to hear that. Um,”—I bit my lower lip— “can you tell her I said hi?” His expression turned to that of an adoring older brother. “Of course.” And that was why my crush had never gone further than a crush. I was just another little sister to him. Gia and I were the same age, three years younger than Ace. He had basically lumped me into the same category as her years ago: annoying younger sister. Trailing after him, hanging onto his every word, I had made a giant fool of myself. Even worse, I knew his four older brothers had teased him to no end about it. If Ace had ever been protective of me, it was always in an angry, brotherly way, not in a jealous, possessive type of way. Which was what I’d always secretly longed for. Because I’d never—not once—thought of him as my older brother. Not for one second. “Maybe you guys could hang out sometime,” he added. “She’d love to see you.” My heart ached. There had been a gaping hole there ever since I lost her years ago to the rising tension between our families. Our fathers had once been good friends, then they had a falling out, and any connection between the D’Angelos and the Rossettis had been obliterated in an instant. “I think you and I both know that’s not possible.” My voice was resigned. “Nothing has changed.” To my astonishment, his eyes flared as they slowly raked down my body. Okay, I’m definitely not imagining that heat. Was he really looking at me like that? Like he did in my pathetic, hopeless dreams? But where was it coming from? “Oh, I don’t know,” he rasped, his gaze once again landing on my mouth. “I’d say some things have definitely changed.” Whaaaaaaaat actually is happening here? His words knocked the air right out of my lungs. The level of bafflement on my face was surely making me look like an idiot, but nothing could have been done about it. He took a meaningful step toward me. “Have you been a bad girl, Roxy?” I’d been staring at his mouth, the way the corner of it twitched with a hint of a grin, but my eyes flew up to his at those words. Because they dripped with innuendo. Since when did Ace speak to me with innuendo? Did he suddenly forget who he was talking to? Embarrassingly, I felt my cheeks heat. He probably thought I was an inexperienced, naïve child at seeing how easily I could still blush. But I was only one of those things, thank you very much. My voice unintentionally came out as a whisper. “Excuse me?” His eyes briefly flitted to the confessional booth. Then that grin came back. “What kind of sins does a girl like you need to confess?” There was one thing about Ace that had always stood out for me above so many others. That inquisitive expression of his I mentioned earlier was one that could swiftly turn very intense. Particularly when he was looking at a girl he was interested in. His eyes would go molten, his jaw would harden, his lips would tighten, and when his chin dipped almost imperceptibly lower, he really meant business. And by business, I meant he was turned on. It was like his signature look that he always gave pretty girls. For years, I’d desperately hoped Ace would one day look at me like that. That I would make his jaw clench, make his mouth firm. That I could cause the kind of visceral reaction in him that made his hands fist with the uncontrollable urge to grab me and haul me to him. I wanted his need to kiss me to light a fire in him so hot he’d do anything to relieve the burn. I’d seen him look at so many other girls just like that, and it had broken my heart each and every time. I’d fallen asleep countless nights, praying that I would eventually be the recipient of his heated inspection. And for the first time in my life…Ace was looking at me. Just. Like. That.

Melanie grew up in a small town in rural Missouri. After marrying her husband, she decided she wanted to try coastal life because why not? A few months later, they moved to North Carolina where she discovered her passion for writing, and they never looked back. They are now enjoying life with their beautiful daughter in Savannah, GA and loving every minute with their little Georgia peach.
Melanie’s other passion is traveling and seeing the world. With anthropology degrees under their belts, she and her husband have made it their goal in life to see as many archaeological sites around the world as possible.
She has a horrible food addiction to pasta and candy (not together…ew). And she gets sad when her wine rack is empty.
At the end of the day, she is a true romantic at heart. She loves writing the cheesy and corny of romantic comedies, and the sassy and sexy of suspense. She aims to make her readers swoon, laugh out loud, maybe sweat a little, and above all, fall in love.

Dirty Ball by Cassandra George Sturges is the third book in the fantasy fiction mythological series Jungle Beauty Goddesses, preceded by book one, Pretty Blue Ball, and book two, Aquatic Ball. In this installment, the Jungle Beauty Goddess Afar is the star as her journey goes from youth through her evolution as an independent and dynamic deity—Goddess of Earth—and how she wields such an extraordinary responsibility and uninhibited power. As she sculpts and molds and creates, she finds that the one thing she cannot control is the free will of her creations...not their emotions, not their hearts. She also steps back and lets her children (the people of Earth) rule themselves, watching as they rise and fall by color and continent alongside her reluctant partner, Mada.
